From a feeling of inner peace to being content in your surroundings, minimalism has gently taken precedence over my life. My objects used to control my life. I always felt the need to clean up in every free moment I had. I’m not truly a minimalist yet, but I am slowly clearing the clutter. It feels good to give things away. Celebrating Holidays as a Minimalist
Today is Mother’s Day and I’m happy to report I had a great day. My daughter made me a lovely card with breakfast in bed. Jenna is in Grade 1 and they put a neat brown bag breakfast together that included an apple, a tea bag and a apple/cinnamon granola bar. It was very sweet. 5 Ways to Delve into Minimalism
I started this blog as part of Zen Habit’s May writing habit exercise. One of the tips was to write for an audience. Today, I’m writing about easy ways to get started with the minimalist lifestyle. Without further ado:
1. Take a Good Look at Your House
Walk around your house and take a mental inventory of everything you own. Do you own multiple items of the same things? How much room is taken up by “stuff”? Do you own things that you hardly use? Items that you may not need include: frozen food, worn out clothes, toys, books, sentimental items (you can take pictures of them!) and more. Continue reading
